When life gives you lemons – make lemonade.

But on Facebook, I saw a cute page that says “Unless life also gives you sugar and water, your lemonade is gonna suck.” LOL!

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico will ruin the Gulf beaches this year. and probably next year. Maybe longer. This is so sad. Not just for the loss of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but for the loss of all the wildlife that lives there. The birds are dying, the fish are dying, the dolphins, the shrimp, the crabs. Its heartbreaking.

Most of the big stores have a DVD rental vending machine by their door. The machine has a menu of popular movies and rents them for only one dollar for one night. That is truly a bargain rate and all the Blockbuster and Hollywood Video stores cannot match that price because of their overhead.

The machines are called Red Box and they have a great web site that lets you sign up, reserve movies and find out about new releases. I tried it today and it was really easy to use. I love paying only one dollar to watch a movie.

A great afternoon snack is a frozen burrito that you microwave for only one minute. IT can be for after school or maybe the late afternoon snack attack.

One minute to cook is really fast and it tastes good. We like to dress it up a little by adding a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkling of shredded cheese. Sometimes I even put minced onion and chopped tomatoes on it. These are all nice ways to change up something that you eat often.

There are so many shows on TV based on crimes and cops. It is disturbing to think that Hollywood can’t find anything else to write about. I don’t like all these cop shows. Most of them make the cops look like insensitive bullies. They accuse everyone around them of being liars and criminals. What a horrible way to go through life – paranoid and suspicious, always around the worst of humanity.

I wish there were more happy shows and dramas about goodness and heroes. Enough with the crime and criminals.
