Great Day for the Park

March 7th, 2010 10:23 pm

The weather was gorgeous again today and although I have a TON of housework to do, I could not bear to stay cooped up in the house again today. So I loaded up everyone – including the dog – and we went to the little park by the community center. They have a nice little playground and a couple of big fields, and a shaded sink hole garden that is usually full of squirrels, rabbits and birds.

It was the perfect afternoon, being outside and having fun together. We could not have asked for anything more.

Come On, Spring!

March 1st, 2010 12:26 pm

Today is the weather day of great importance. If the weather is mild as a lamb, then the end of the month will have severe weather. If it starts off with cold, windy, rainy days, then it comes in like a lion and will end up with mild, warm days. As much as I am anxious for nice weather, I think I would prefer to continue another week or two with the bad weather so that once it turns nice it will stay nice.

But, according to the forecast, that’s not what we will be getting this year.

Earthquake!

February 27th, 2010 6:28 pm

It was very freaky to learn that while I was drifting off to sleep watching the Craig Ferguson Show last night, that the people in Chile were experiencing a major earthquake. It was a magnitude 8.8 earthquake and it was so strong that it even caused a tsunami, which killed even more people in Chile. What a terrible thing to happen to those poor people who were sound asleep in their beds and had no idea that they were about to face major destruction and hardship.

Magazines

November 1st, 2009 8:41 pm

Most of the magazines that I read are impulse purchase at the grocery checkout line. The selection is usually limited to women’s magazines and gossip rags. Bleh.

It’s probably been over a year since I was in a bookstore browsing racks of hundreds of magazines. Those were the good old days.

Clean Sheets

October 14th, 2009 8:07 pm

When I change the bed linens I try to keep them in rotation. I have one set for current use and one set to be laundered or to be clean and ready for use. I wish I had an extra set, but sheets are so expensive these days!

When I fluff the top sheets before tucking them in, they smell so good! I love the fresh smell of clean sheets as I’m making up the beds!
