Most of the magazines that I read are impulse purchase at the grocery checkout line. The selection is usually limited to women’s magazines and gossip rags. Bleh.
It’s probably been over a year since I was in a bookstore browsing racks of hundreds of magazines. Those were the good old days.

When I change the bed linens I try to keep them in rotation. I have one set for current use and one set to be laundered or to be clean and ready for use. I wish I had an extra set, but sheets are so expensive these days!
When I fluff the top sheets before tucking them in, they smell so good! I love the fresh smell of clean sheets as I’m making up the beds!

What a strange holiday. The post office and the banks are closed. But the schools are open. I don’t know if the courts are open or not. Is this holiday just a waste of time for everyone? there’s not parades, no officials making speeches, no special ceremonies anywhere. Why do some of us have the day off and others still have to work? Is Columbus Day a holiday or not?

The Boy Scouts have a huge camping reservation in the next county. It is beautiful, on the lake, with a lot of woods and creeks for exploring.
The Cub Scouts are organizing a camping trip next weekend. I hope it does not rain and spoil their fun.
